MOTHER JOANNE HOOKS

Mother Joanne Smith-Hooks is the Jurisdictional Supervisor of The Women's Department under the leadership of Bishop Roy Dixon. She is a member of Greater Woodlawn Park Church of God in Christ. Mother Hooks is the tenth of twenty children born to Wesley and Willie Mae Smith, who were sharecroppers in Mariana, Arkansas.

She has a Master’s degree in Theology. Mother Hooks fully surrendered her life to the Lord at a noonday prayer meeting 30 years ago when she heard the voice of God once again. God then sent Jesus to lay hands upon her and told her, “I have anointed you to preach the gospel.” Not once, but twice in that same hour, hands were laid upon her, and she was filled with the Holy Ghost all in one day. Mother Hooks is married to Brother Lee Hooks. Mother Hooks has a daughter, Rhonda Ramsey, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Mother Hooks has many accomplishments and founded the "San Diego Youth Explosion." CEO of Seeking for the Future, Inc., and Author of 3 books titled "I Don't Take it Lightly" released in 2006 & "The Root of Bitterness Workbook" released in 2009, and "A Bitter Disease Called Unforgiveness" released in 2012. Mother Hooks also hosts her hit radio show "The Hour Brokenness," which airs every Sunday on KEPX Radio at 3 PM PST.
